In your stomach there are yeast/bacteria cells that line the intestinal wall. These cells make up part of your immune system. When you eat a healthy and balanced diet, the beneficial cells thrive. But on the other hand when you eat poorly, such as sugars, breads and the wrong types of dairy, the balanced of good bacteria to bad bacteria becomes unbalanced and that is when the cravings happen. When you eat sugar, you are literally feeding the bad bacteria and it over grows the beneficial bacteria. Because the harmful bacteria lives off of the sugar, it will crave for it, making you crave it. So the best way to get rid of the cravings in the long run is to resists them. Yes, no one wants to because it is just easier to give in, but if the cravings are resisted then the bad bacteria will die off because is not being fed. It will let the beneficial bacteria come back into play and keep you healthier in the long run.
